レイキ or Reiki is a Japanese word that means sacred or spiritual energy. In North America we call it vitality or life force. The practice of Reiki is therefore a vibrational, subtle energy therapy most commonly facilitated by light touch. It is believed to balance the energetic fields within and around the body and to strengthen the body’s ability to heal itself. When the bodies vital energy flows properly through both physical and non-physical systems, it maintains the body’s natural healing abilities. This helps to relax the mind and body thereby reducing stress and promoting proper function of internal organs, glands and other internal systems. Reiki is a non-invasive therapy and can be used in conjunction with other health care practices and therapies.
Although traditional Reiki is known to be used physically, advanced Reiki practitioners are able to intuit both physical and non physical structures, which maybe offending the natural flow of energy within the various subtle bodies. This advanced practice allows for very little restriction to the practitioner, by way of physicality to the client they maybe directing energy to.
