Therapeutic Massage: is primarily used to treat chronic pain produced by weak organs as well as muscle and sport-related injuries that have developed into chronic pain. This therapy is used to penetrate the deeper muscles that may cause ischemia and trigger points promoting better circulation to the affected and surrounding muscle systems. This treatment is not recommended for individuals with high blood pressure, pacemakers or other forms of heart imbalances.
Please note that energy medicine which includes Acupuncture, Reiki, Reconnective Healing, Acupoint therapy, BDE Therapy (Bio-Dynamic Energetics Therapy), etc. can be used to release trigger points and all locations experiencing pain with very little to no pressure on the physical body.
Swedish Massage: is mainly used to promote relaxation and reduce muscle tension caused by everyday activities that exacerbate mental, emotional or physical stress. This therapy is effective for individuals experiencing stress, depression and circulation issues (recommended for individuals with high blood pressure, pacemakers and other forms of heart issues).
Trigger Point Therapy: is used to target myofascial dysfunctions within the muscle and fascia that cause the muscle to contract producing pain. These trigger points create knots which restrict blood supply (ischemia) leading to the accumulation of toxins to the area of pain.
Neuromuscular Therapy: (NMT) is a precise, thorough examination and treatment of the body’s soft tissues. NMT primarily addresses:
- ischemia (tight tissue with reduced blood flow)
- myofascial trigger points (hypersensitive points within muscles that give rise to referred phenomena, including pain)
- neural entrapment (pressure on nerves by muscles and other soft tissues), and nerve compression (pressure on nerves by osseous and other bonelike tissues, such as cartilage or disks).
- postural assessment (assessment of the position of the body as a whole)
- dysfunctional gait patterns (manner of movement when walking)
All therapies provided by Royston have energy medicine integrated into the treatments. These therapies do not have the same potent affect as a full energetic/vibrational treatment, but helps with some pain caused by acute and chronic issues.
